The midwest bracket is just one of four used in the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament, with the winner of the bracket continuing on to play in the Final Four.
The bracket begins with 16 teams, all of which who are named and seeded by the NCAA Selection Committee on Selection Sunday. The teams participate in a single-elimination tournament with the first round narrowing the region to eight teams, then to four, two and eventually one.
